The purpose of the Kekaha Sugar Infrastructure Study was to inventory and document the existing domestic water, drainage, irrigation and electrical systems on the state’s Kekaha lands. The study provides the state with information as how to best operate and maintain these facilities if and when Kekaha Sugar Company is no longer using them. In addition, the study provides estimates for the annual costs to maintain and operate the various utilities and roadway systems. The Kekaha Sugar Infrastructure Study contains essential information for the maintenance of the Kekaha lands. Today, the Study is still used and cross-referenced by the Department of Agriculture staff.
